Sheryl Spanier

Sheryl has performed since she was a tot. At just four years old, she did her ballet debut at Carnegie Hall. When she was ten, her school music teacher noticed her strong singing voice and encouraged her to learn standards, leading to winning a series of talent shows, participating in a touring talent group, and eventually appearing on “The Ted Mac Amateur Hour” (the 1950’s-60’s version of “American Idol”).

Sheryl continued to sing throughout college, in choirs and did occasional solo performances. Then, her singing career was put on the back burner as she nurtured her family and built her profession as a career consultant/executive coach. In 2002, Sheryl reignited her singing avocation when she was blessed to discover Helen Balsassare’s Cabaret Performance Workshop.

Starting out in group classes, she graduated to the Master Classes and created four solo shows under Helen’s direction. Currently, Sheryl is working under the direction of Barry Kleinbort. Accompanied by her Music Director, Paul Greenwood, Sheryl delights audiences with her unique song selections, inspirational and uplifting messages and sensitive interpretations of standards, folk and show tunes.
